As I mentioned in the last post, the theme for this year’s National Eating Disorder Awareness Week is “Everyone Knows Someone”
What does this theme mean to you? Can you identify with this?
As I reflect on these words it occurs to me that we can extend this beyond just eating disorders. It propels me to think about the many ways we are all affected by the disordered images around us. We see unrealistic images of beauty everywhere we look. We are confronted with messages about diets, food and what we should or should not be eating. The disordered climate of our culture affects us all.
