My story

Hi there! I’m Amber, a therapist specializing in eating disorders, serious mental illness (schizophrenia-spectrum disorders, bipolar disorders, personality disorders), anxiety, and depression.

I believe that healing happens when we feel understood, supported, and empowered. I believe in the power of small moments to build big change. Therapy isn’t about perfection, it’s about progress, and I’m here to walk beside you every step of the way.

I’ve been in the mental health field for 5 years, and my passion for this work started with my bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University where I majored in psychology and minored in health promotion. Currently, I am a doctoral candidate in the Counseling Psychology PhD program at Wayne State University.

Over the years, I’ve pursued additional training in eating disorders and serious mental illness to ensure I provide the best possible care for my clients. I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals and families from all walks of life, assisting them to navigate their personal journeys toward recovery and wellness.

In our work together, I integrate evidence-based treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

These approaches are designed to help you develop healthier thought patterns, regulate emotions, and build coping skills that can last a lifetime. I also incorporate a Health at Every Size (HAES) approach with a trauma-informed lens to ensure that your unique experiences are honored and addressed throughout our work together.

I aim to create a non-judgmental space where we can explore what’s holding you back from living the life you deserve. No judgment, just honest conversation and practical tools to help you reconnect with yourself in a healthy, balanced way. Together, we’ll work to unearth the strength that’s always been within you—and find joy in the process!

When I’m not in the office, you’ll find me traveling, hiking, playing with my dog, and engaging in my creative side!
