We're here to support your growth

Being a teenager today is tough. With the constant pressure from social media and the push for perfection, life can feel pretty overwhelming.

In the midst of stress, eating disorders can happen. They can affect your mental well-being, physical health and overall development.

Recognizing the signs early can make a big difference in your recovery.

Eating disorder signs

Teenagers with anorexia may stop eating or eat very little. They constantly worry about weight and may have a distorted view of their appearance.

Teenagers with bulimia will likely eat a lot of food in a short time, then do things like throw up, take medicine or over-exercise to get rid of the food.

With binge eating disorder, teens eat large amounts of food even when they're not hungry. Many times it leaves them feeling ashamed and out of control.

Teens with ARFID will avoid certain foods because of the texture, taste or smell, making it hard to get the nutrition their bodies need.

Services for different care needs

At Mindfullness, we offer a range of services to help you and your family heal:

  • One-on-one therapy: These sessions with a licensed therapist will help you understand the underlying issues behind your eating disorder, such as anxiety, depression or trauma. You’ll work on building a healthy mindset and overcoming negative thought patterns.

  • Family therapy: If you're comfortable, family therapy can be incredibly helpful. It allows your family to better understand what you’re going through and learn how to support you as you recover.

  • Intuitive eating: This approach can help you reconnect with your natural hunger cues and focus on listening to your body instead of following restrictive eating patterns.
