We know it's hard
Venturing into adult life can feel overwhelming. There’s pressure to figure everything out—your career, relationships, and who you’re supposed to be.
In the midst of stress, eating disorders can occur. They can affect your mental well-being, physical health and overall development.
Recognizing the signs early can make a big difference in your recovery.
Eating disorder signs
Young adults with anorexia often fear gaining weight and have a distorted body image. They often live with extreme calorie restriction.
With bulimia, young adults often binge eat large amounts of food, followed by purging, laxative use or excessive exercising.
Young adults with BED consume large amounts of food in one sitting, but don't purge. There is often guilt and shame, and many times individuals prefer to eat alone.
ARFID is when individuals severely restrict the types or amounts of food they eat, often due to sensory sensitivities or fears of choking.
